Overview


Closed-end funds have become a staple of the retail investment community, offering access to a wide range of asset classes and investment strategies wrapped in packages that have the potential to generate high levels of income. Doug Bond, portfolio manager of the Cohen & Steers Closed-End Opportunity Fund (FOF) with decades of experience in the closed-end fund industry, will provide a review and outlook of the closed-end fund market and identify areas where he sees current value. Ben Morton, portfolio manager for Cohen & Steers' infrastructure portfolios, including those focused on master limited partnerships, will discuss our outlook for global listed infrastructure and how this applies to our Cohen & Steers Infrastructure Closed-End Fund (UTF) and Cohen & Steers MLP Income and Energy Opportunity Closed-End Fund (MIE).

Michelle Butler
SVP, Portfolio Specialist, Cohen & Steers


Michelle Butler, Senior Vice President, is a Portfolio Specialist for Cohen & Steers' Real Assets, Midstream Energy & MLPs, and Commodities strategies, with primary responsibility for articulating the investment team's process, portfolio positioning, and investment outlook views with investors, consultants, and colleagues. Ms. Butler has an in-depth knowledge of commodity and energy market fundamentals and serves as an extension of the investment teams, actively participating in daily portfolio management and research discussions. She has 22 years of investment-related experience. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, Ms. Butler was the Portfolio Specialist for the Active Commodities strategy at GE Asset Management, where she worked for 14 years in various product development and client service roles. Ms. Butler began her investment career in securities lending at the Bank of New York and UBS. Ms. Butler has a BA from Providence College and is based in New York. She is the holder of Series 3, 7, and 63 FINRA certifications.

Douglas Bond
Executive Vice President, Cohen & Steers


Douglas Bond, Executive Vice President, is Portfolio Manager for Cohen & Steers' Closed-End Opportunity Fund and other portfolios investing in closed-end funds. Before joining Cohen & Steers in 2004, Mr. Bond worked at Merrill Lynch for 23 years. Between 1992 and 2004, he ran their closed-end fund new origination effort and was involved in all closed-end funds underwritten by Merrill Lynch. He also headed Merrill's Private Client Syndicate Group. Mr. Bond holds a BA from Hamilton College and an MBA from New York University. He is based in New York.

Benjamin Morton
Senior Vice President, Cohen & Steers


Benjamin Morton, Senior Vice President, is a portfolio manager for Cohen & Steers' infrastructure portfolios, including those focused on master limited partnerships. He has 20 years of infrastructure-related investment experience. Prior to joining Cohen & Steers in 2003, Mr. Morton worked at Salomon Smith Barney as a research associate for three years, covering the utility and pipelines sectors. He also worked at New York Mercantile Exchange as a research analyst. Mr. Morton holds a BA from the University of Rochester and an MES from Yale University. He is based in New York.
