Business Development Companies offer investors exposure to a segment of the credit market that is generally difficult for individuals to access. Private loans made to lower and traditional middle market companies can offer attractive yields and greater levels of protection than are often seen in syndicated loan markets or public market high yield.

Mr. Aaron Peck, Chief Investment Officer of Monroe Capital Corporation, will discuss the characteristics of lower and traditional middle market finance as well as the way BDC investors benefit from access to these private credit markets. He will also discuss the way Monroe's lending platform generates a large pipeline of proprietary investment opportunities, maintains a highly selective investment process and strong focus on credit quality.

Monroe Capital Corporation (NASDAQ: MRCC) is a publicly-traded BDC, managed by Monroe Capital, an award-winning private credit firm with $3.3 billion in committed and invested assets under management. The Monroe BDC offers a yield of approximately 9%, and has paid dividends every quarter since the IPO in late 2012. The quarterly dividend was raised in Q1 2014 and adjusted net investment income has covered the dividend for 9 consecutive quarters. As of 6/30, the portfolio was 93% invested in secured loans and 74% in first lien loans. This continued conservative management has been reflected in the book value, or NAV, which has not only been stable but been one of a small number of BDCs that have actually grown NAV in 2015 and 2016.
