Charles I. Clough, Jr. is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Clough Capital Partners, L.P., a Boston based investment firm with over $4.3 billion in assets under management. He has been active in the securities and investment business for over 45 years.
Prior to founding Clough Capital, Mr. Clough served as the Chief Global Investment Strategist at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. Mr. Clough advised many of the world's top institutions and investors on portfolio strategy. He was named to the Institutional Investor All-America Research Team for 12 consecutive years and earned a place as the top ranked strategist on Wall Street on three separate occasions. Mr. Clough has been consistently recognized as a top strategist in areas such as U.S. equities, global investments and fixed income.
Prior to his tenure at Merrill Lynch, Mr. Clough was Director of Investment Policy and Chief Strategist at Cowen & Co. Previously, he had been Director of Research and Portfolio Manager at the Boston Company, Portfolio Manager at Colonial Management Associates and Vice President and Senior Research Analyst for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Alliance Capital Management Company. Mr. Clough serves on the boards of a number of educational, hospital and charitable institutions, including his alma mater, Boston College.
Mr. Clough graduated magna cum laude with a major in history and a minor in economics from Boston College and earned an MBA at the University of Chicago. He has maintained a Chartered Financial Analyst designation since 1979. He is an ordained permanent deacon in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston and serves in that capacity at his local parish in Concord, MA.
